About the Tour

Embark on an unforgettable adventure with Atlantis Submarines Cozumel aboard the Atlantis XII, the only tourist submarine in Mexico.

Your journey begins with a scenic ride along the southern coast of Cozumel aboard our vessel Ana, which will take you to the submarine. Once inside, you’ll descend more than 30 meters into the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean.

During the dive, you’ll discover the majestic Chankanaab Reef, part of the Mesoamerican Reef System — the second-largest barrier reef in the world. This ecosystem is home to an impressive variety of tropical fish, corals, and other marine species, all of which you’ll be able to observe from the comfort and safety of the submarine. Keep in mind that since we’ll be visiting a natural area, the marine life you see may vary depending on the time of year you visit.

The experience also includes a visit to the iconic Cozumel Wall, a world-renowned vertical drop recognized for its beauty, as well as the exploration of the sunken ship Felipe Xicoténcatl, an artificial reef that enhances marine life within this Protected Natural Area. Another option to experience the submarine adventure is the sunset tour, where you’ll be amazed by the diversity of marine life on the coral reef as evening falls. Although the scenery remains the same, the usual behavior of the fauna changes as the amount of light filtering to the ocean floor decreases.

Screening of a submarine history video plus safety instructions.
Boarding of the vessel ANA, heading to the dive site.
Start of the Submarine Adventure: tour through the reef area of Chankanaab Park, the wall, and the sunken ship Felipe Xicoténcatl.
Boarding of the vessel ANA, heading back to the main building.
Arrival at the Atlantis Submarines Cozumel facilities, followed by disembarkation.
